Irazú takes F4 U.S. pole at VIR
Scoring his fifth-consecutive pole, Gastón Irazú was fastest in Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) qualifying at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) on Friday afternoon. Irazú (No. 27 Elia Group/Baly/Canal 4/Ancap/Champagne Racing Ligier JS F422) posted a 1m53.981s lap to take the top spot, and will lead Cole Medeiros (No. 77 Firano Motorsports/MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422), Caleb Campbell (No. 68 Steele Auto Group/Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) and Clemente Huerta Raab (No. 17 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) to the green.
With one practice session on Friday morning, fifth-place qualifier Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) topped the speed charts, holding a 0.275s advantage over eventual polesitter, Irazú.
F4 U.S. will contest Race 1 of the Racing America @ VIR weekend tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. ET.
