Grid penalty for Ericsson in Laguna IndyCar finale
A third six-place grid penalty has been handed down by IndyCar Officiating for an unapproved engine change, this time affecting the No. 28 Andretti Global Honda of Marcus Ericsson, following Saturday's qualifying session.
Ericsson, who had qualified eighth, joins Christian Lundgaard (who qualified fifth in his No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevy) and Caio Collet (who qualified 12th in the No. 4 AJ Foyt Racing Chevy) in taking six-place penalties for violations of Rule 16.1.2.3.2. regarding approved engine change-outs.
