Rosenqvist tops final IndyCar practice at Laguna Seca
Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist was the quickest man on track in IndyCar’s final practice session for the Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca, turning in a 1m10.427s lap in his Nickelback-liveried No. 60 SiriusXM Honda to top the timesheets.
Mick Schumacher ended the last practice of his rookie season — and last as a Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver — on a high note, going second fastest (1m10.705s) ahead of Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin (1m10.835s) in third and Scott Dixon (1m10.9s) in fourth. Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood (1m10.902s) rounded out the top five.
Early in the session, Sting Ray Robb spun off in Turn 9 and was sent into the barrier, bringing out a red flag while his car was recovered from the gravel.
Scott Dixon and Kyffin Simpson also suffered spins during the 35-minute session but were able to get back on track without issue.
The Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey begins at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
