Hill to drive RCR's No.33 NASCAR Cup Series entry full-time in 2027

Austin Hill will remain in the No. 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in 2027.

“I’m extremely thankful to Richard and everyone at RCR for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” Hill said. “Every race car driver dreams of competing full time in the NASCAR Cup Series, and to have that opportunity with RCR is something I don’t take for granted. I’ve learned so much this year about what it takes to compete at this level, and I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned during my time at RCR and apply it to this next chapter. 

“I want to do everything I can to help this organization continue moving forward. I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready to get to work.”

The official promotion for Hill comes after five seasons driving for Childress in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Hill has won 16 races in the series to date, and has finished no worse than sixth in the championship in his last four seasons. He is seventh in the standings with one race left in the regular season (Friday, 7:30 p.m. ET).

Hill has driven the No. 33 car in the Cup Series, renumbered from the 8 in May after the unexpected passing of Kyle Busch. In all, he has made 50 starts in the Cup Series to date.
