Ratings dip for IndyCar at Portland
IndyCar’s visit to Portland International Raceway last Sunday was met with one of the smallest audiences since the open-wheel series moved to an all-network platform with FOX.
Sunday’s OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland won by Alex Palou delivered an average of 677,000 viewers, second-lowest to May’s Indianapolis Grand Prix (656,000), which was 4.6 percent lower than the 708,000 who tuned in to see Will Power claim his final win for Team Penske at OIR in 2025.
The 110-lap race, which had a delayed start due to the previous sports broadcast running long, peaked at 737,000 viewers. To date across the first 13 rounds of the 18-race calendar, FOX is averaging 1,799,000 viewers, a 16-percent improvement from the 1,545,000 average at this stage in 2025.
