Trans Am dominator Matt Brabham talks good times, bad times and the joy of winning

Like so many up-and-coming racecar drivers, Matt Brabham dreamed of reaching the rarefied air of Formula 1 or the NTT IndyCar Series.

The son of IMSA legend Geoff and grandson of triple F1 champ Sir Jack had the talent and the drive – as his junior open-wheel seasons proved – yet racing’s a fickle business, where budgets, luck or “right place, right time” can be just as big a factor as skill.

Brabham fell off the open-wheel radar, but found huge success in the high-flying world of Stadium Super Trucks, and right now he’s dominating the heavy-metal action in Trans Am by Pirelli. He joins RACER Weekly to look back on his racing journey and talk about the joy and the challenge of chasing TA perfection in his Chris Dyson Racing Ford Mustang.
