Trans Am dominator Matt Brabham talks good times, bad times and the joy of winning

Like so many up-and-coming racecar drivers, Matt Brabham dreamed of reaching the rarefied air of Formula 1 or the NTT IndyCar Series.

The son of IMSA legend Geoff and grandson of triple F1 champ Sir Jack had the talent and the drive – as his junior open-wheel seasons proved – yet racing’s a fickle business, where budgets, luck or “right place, right time” can be just as big a factor as skill.

Brabham fell off the open-wheel radar, but found huge success in the high-flying world of Stadium Super Trucks, and right now he’s dominating the heavy-metal action in Trans Am by Pirelli.
