Blaney leads a Penske front row sweep with Cup Series pole at EchoPark

Ryan Blaney led a Team Penske qualifying sweep Saturday afternoon to lock down the front row for the NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway.

Blaney won the pole with a lap of 179.912 mph (30.815s). It is his second pole of the season and 14th of his career, and the second time Blaney will lead the field to the green flag at EchoPark Speedway (2025).

“The goal for today was to try to qualify the best we could, and we were able to do that,” Blaney said. “I appreciate everyone on this (No.)12 car for bringing me a fast car. It’s great to have a Team Penske front row, so that part’s great. I look forward to tomorrow and seeing what we have in the draft. Hopefully, we can hang in there and contend for the win.”

Joey Logano qualified second. Logano’s fast lap was 179.702 mph.

Kyle Larson qualified third (179.406 mph) and Austin Dillon qualified fourth (179.394 mph). Daniel Suarez completed the top five qualifiers at 179.359 mph.

Alex Bowman qualified sixth (179.226 mph), Chase Elliott qualified seventh (179.203 mph), and Austin Cindric qualified eighth (179.191 mph). Ross Chastain qualified ninth (178.977 mph) and rounding out the top 10 was Brad Keselowski in 10th (178.729 mph).

Elliott and his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team are the defending race winners.

Shane van Gisbergen qualified 12th, Chris Buescher qualified 13th, and Carson Hocevar qualified 14th. Chase Briscoe qualified 20th, Bubba Wallace 22nd, Connor Zilisch 25th, and William Byron 26th.

Denny Hamlin, the points leader, qualified 28th. Tyler Reddick qualified 31st. Reddick won at the track earlier this year.

There are 38 teams entered at EchoPark Speedway. The Open teams are BJ McLeod in his Live Fast Motorsports car and Chad Finchum in his Garage 66 car.

Finchum did not post a qualifying lap. He spun during his attempt.
