YRB Racing acquires van der Steur Racing entry ahead of Six Hours of the Glen

On the eve of the IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen comes news that YRB Racing will make its WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge series debuts this weekend in Watkins Glen, after acquiring the entry of Van der Steur Racing.

Van der Steur Racing announced earlier today that it would conclude operations, with YRB Racing now entering as a new team under new ownership, though VDSR Team Principal Christopher Deely will continue in his current role with the new team.

“First and foremost, we would like to thank Gunnar and Rory (van der Steur) for their support over the past six seasons. Starting in TCR and making it all the way to GTD in our fifth season was an amazing journey.” said Deely. “We are ready to apply all of our experience from van der Steur Racing to grow YRB Racing with our customers and partners as we push for a winning future.”

YRB Racing will debut in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with its No. 068 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO painted in a blank white livery, nicknamed “Car Blanche,” with its official livery to be revealed later in the year.

Aston Martin Racing works GT driver Valentin Hasse-Clot will remain with YRB Racing, as part of a new-look driver line-up to be confirmed before the start of the weekend.
