RallyX Americas Round 1 semifinals and finals postponed due to weather
Inclement weather at Crandon International Raceway has forced the postponement of the RallyX Americas Semifinals and Finals of Hypercar and Supercar for the opening round of the season – and the new championship – to Sunday morning.
The latter round races for categories were due to take place today, Saturday, but a heavy downpour as the Supercar class was lining up on the grid for the semis led to an extended delay for not just RallyX, but all activities at Crandon.
At the time the finals were originally due to take place, with the semis still yet to run, the series announced that the latter stages of Round 1 would be moved to Sunday, ahead of Semifinals and Finals for Round 2.
“Due to inclement weather, the RallyX Americas Round 1 Semifinals and Finals from Crandon International Raceway have been postponed to Sunday morning,” the series said in a statement. “Due to the nature of live events, this schedule is subject to change.”
The schedule change means that no heats for Round 2 will now take place in order to make room for what remains of Round 1.
Prior to the postponements, Tommi Hallman had topped Hypercar qualifying after two heats, placing first in both rounds. Robin Larson sits second after a second place in Q1 and a third in Q2, with Oliver Eriksson third after ranking fourth in both heats.

In Supercar, Lukas Andersson topped qualifying after that class' two heat rounds ahead of Mitchell DeJong, the only driver racing in both classes this weekend, with Banks Hovey in third.
SUPERCAR INTERMEDIATE CLASSIFICATION
Sunday’s running will be broadcast on RACER+ in the U.S. and on RallyX’s YouTube channel globally.

Dominik often jokes that he was born in the wrong country – a lover of NASCAR and IndyCar, he covered both in a past life as a junior at Autosport in the UK, but he’s spent most of his career to date covering the sliding and flying antics of the U.S.’ interpretation of rallycross. Rather fitting for a man that says he likes “seeing cars do what they’re not supposed to do”, previously worked for a car stunt show, and once even rolled a rally car with Travis Pastrana. He was also comprehensively beaten in a kart race by Sebastien Loeb once, but who hasn’t been?
