Samantha Busch posts message of appreciation for public support over husband Kyle's passing

In her first public comments since the unexpected death of her husband, Kyle, Samantha Busch has expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support in a social media post.

It was posted on her official social media pages, including Facebook and Instagram, and read, “As a family, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you. The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives. While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.

“The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain. Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people. There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone.

“From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for loving Kyle. Thank you for honoring him. We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful.”

It was signed by Samantha and their children, Brexton and Lennix.

Samantha and Kyle Busch were married in 2010. Brexton Busch, their son, was born in May 2015, the season Busch went to win his first championship. Lennix, their daughter, was born in May 2022.

Kyle Busch passed away on May 21 after being rushed to the hospital the day before. A statement from the family on his cause of death revealed that the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion succumbed to severe pneumonia that had progressed into sepsis.

Samantha, Brexton, and Lennix made a surprise appearance before the Coca-Cola 600 three days later for a pre-race ceremony (pictured above) honoring her late husband. Kurt Busch, Kyle’s older brother, was also in attendance, as were their parents, Tom and Gaye Busch.

A private remembrance of life was held earlier this week. It is expected that a public memorial will be held in Charlotte at a future date.
