‘The Mikes’ set to double up on Hauger’s car in Long Beach
Dale Coyne Racing will make use of its pool of race engineers to look after rookie Dennis Hauger this weekend at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
With the Norwegian’s regular race engineer Michael Cannon unavailable for the event, Coyne team manager Mitch Davis says he’ll draft in Mike Colliver and Mike Cicciarelli to engineer the No. 18 Honda.
“We’ll have ‘The Mikes’ engineer Dennis this weekend,” Davis told RACER.
Hauger sits 17th in the championship and leads the Rookie of the Year standings; he’s five points behind Rinus VeeKay, who led the Coyne team last season before leaving to join Juncos Hollinger Racing.
After a three-race slide, the streets of Long Beach hold great promise for Hauger to show the same form he demonstrated to open the year on the streets of St. Petersburg, where the 2025 Indy NXT champion qualified inside the Firestone Fast Six and finished 10th.
