Ligier unveils new Bronze driver prize
Ligier Automotive North America (LANA) has announced a new driver incentive program within the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge.
The top Bronze-rated driver competing in a Ligier LMP3, be it the current Ligier JS P325 or the previous-generation JS P320, for the remaining nine races of the season will be awarded a race seat in a Ligier JS P2 at the Legends of Le Mans event in June 2027.
The prize will cover the full race entry, car operation, tires, and fuel for the Legends of Le Mans race, to be run during the week of the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“This is about creating continuity across everything we do at Ligier,” said Mo Murray, CEO of LANA. “We have a strong presence globally – from LMP3 to upcoming LMP2 and GT platforms – and we want that to translate into real opportunities for the drivers racing with us here in North America. This award is a way of recognizing that commitment and offering a meaningful and aspirational pathway – one that connects North American racing directly to the Le Mans ecosystem.”
Launched in 2025, the Legends of Le Mans series features vintage LMP1, LMP2, and GTE cars from the 21st century, including the Ligier JS P2. Introduced in 2014, the JS P2 won the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 title and then went on to take overall victories in IMSA’s three biggest endurance races at Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans (Road Atlanta).
