WEC shifts pre-season Prologue test to Imola
The FIA World Endurance Championship teams will take part in a pre-season Prologue test at Imola ahead of the first round of the season at the same venue, according to a bulletin sent to the competitors on Friday.
The rescheduled Prologue will take place on the 14th of April, with the circuit open for two lengthy test sessions ahead of the WEC's race weekend. The morning session will be 3.5 hours, and the afternoon session will be 4.5 hours.
There will then be a gap before track action resumes on Friday, the 17th, with Free Practice 1 and 2. The race is set for Sunday, April 19th, after qualifying on Saturday, the 18th.
The Prologue was originally scheduled for Qatar later this month, ahead of the 1812KM race at the Lusail International Circuit. But both events were postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
With a Prologue now rescheduled, attention shifts to confirming a new date for the race in Qatar, which is expected to take place during the second half of the season.
