EchoPark rainout puts Reddick on pole
Tyler Reddick remains on top of the NASCAR Cup Series garage with the pole position starting spot at EchoPark Speedway.
Reddick, who entered the weekend off his Daytona 500 triumph, was awarded the pole Saturday when rain canceled qualifying. The field of 38 was set by the performance metric, which Reddick leads after his victory a week ago.
Joey Logano will join him on the front row for the Autotrader 400. Logano is a two-time winner at the track since it was reconfigured.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start third with Chase Elliott fourth, and Brad Keselowski fifth. Zane Smith will start sixth, with Chris Buescher seventh, and Riley Herbst eighth.
Bubba Wallace will start ninth and Josh Berry completes the top 10 starters.
William Byron will line up 13th, alongside Kyle Busch in 14th, with Kyle Larson in 16th. Further back in the field will be Ryan Blaney coming from the 22nd starting position, Ryan Preece from 26th, and Denny Hamlin from 29th.
The defending race winner is Christopher Bell. He will start 32nd.
The single-car qualifying session was the only item on the Cup Series schedule for teams on Saturday. They do not practice at superspeedway races (aside from the Daytona 500).
There have been five different winners on the current configuration of EchoPark Speedway. Byron, Elliott, and Logano have each won twice. The other winners are Daniel Suarez and Bell.
