Road Atlanta added to Radical Cup schedule
Radical Cup North America has added another renowned circuit to its 2026 roster with the return of Road Atlanta to the calendar. With the announcement that Radical Cup will support the FIA World Endurance Championship at COTA next September, it appeared the home of Petit Le Mans might be missed, but the series has struck a deal with World Racing League to appear on its spectator weekend of July 23-26.
This year’s Road Atlanta event saw 30 drivers of all ages take part in a highly competitive field comprised of Radical SR10, SR3 1500 and SR3 1340 machines. The series Pro classes are capped at Silver-rated drivers and attract a mixture of next-gen talent as young as 14 years old along with seasoned veterans. The Platinum and Gold classes are for drivers 30 years or older and are capped at a Bronze rating.
Radical Cup North America alumni include George Kurtz – the decorated IMSA and SRO driver who recently took an ownership stake in the Mercedes-AMG F1 team – and current Indy NXT driver Jordan Missig.
Aside from performance equaling– and often beating – GT3 machinery, the USAC-sanctioned Radical Cup offers drivers multi-class Le Mans style racing at mixture of bucket-list tracks and high-profile events for a fraction of the price of other premium single-make series. The 2026 season commences at Sebring International Raceway in March, before heading to Sonoma Raceway in April. The series continues to be a staple of Road America’s XPEL INDYCAR Grand Prix presented by AMR in June and will star alongside the FIA’s WEC at Circuit of The Americas in September.
Drivers receive hospitality privileges at each event (each entry includes four passes), and plentiful track time with each tripleheader event featuring three 40-minute races in addition to qualifying and a minimum of 60 minutes of practice. Additional testing is also typically offered.
Full arrive-and-drive packages are available from a number of professional teams including Radical’s dealers. However, the cars are simple enough to be run by owner-drivers and family outfits.
Radical Cup is still to announce its sixth venue, with licensing and registration for the series opening shortly. For more information visit radicalcupnorthamerica.com.
