AF Corse adds LMP2 entry for Rolex 24

AF Corse USA has announced it will run an ORECA LMP2 in the 64th annual Rolex 24 At Daytona, alongside its Michelin Endurance Cup-winning GTD entry.

The updated No. 21 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO will make its debut at Daytona, featuring reigning Michelin Endurance Cup winners Simon Mann and Lilou Wadoux, who won the Cup title after winning Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in October.

Ferrari Hypercar driver and 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Antonio Fuoco will join Mann and Wadoux for the five-race Michelin Endurance Cup. Fuoco, who’s spent five seasons running endurance races for Cetilar Racing, replaces fellow Ferrari factory ace Alessandro Pier Guidi in the No. 21 car this season.

At Daytona, they will be joined by Tommaso Mosca, making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut. The 25-year-old Italian driver tested at Daytona for the first time when he joined Mann for the November IMSA Sanctioned Test. He finished second in last year’s International GT Open series, driving for AF Corse.

Daytona will also see the return of AF Corse USA’s ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2 that wasn’t on the full-season entry list when it was announced in October. The new-look No. 83 AF Corse ORECA features François Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxivière, Dylan Murry and another overall Le Mans winner for Ferrari, Nicklas Nielsen.

Vaxivière, Nielsen, and Murry drove alongside Luis Perez Companc last year at Daytona, and were one of a few contenders that could have won LMP2 before a mechanical failure knocked them out of contention in the closing stages. Perrodo, a multi-time FIA WEC and European Le Mans Series title-winner alongside drivers like Vaxivière and Nielsen, will be making his first IMSA start since 2023.
