IndyCar practice 2 scrubbed due to heavy fog at Laguna Seca

IndyCar's 8:30am practice session at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca was cancelled after a thick marine layer of fog blanketed the circuit.

With the inability for emergency helicopters to land or leave the track that sits within a bowl atop a mountain range, IndyCar paused the start of the session and held teams on pit lane until approximately 9:45 a.m.

Morning delays are common at Laguna Seca due to the regular presence of heavy fog, making the 8:30 a.m. start susceptible to the session's cancellation, and with Sunday morning's warmup also set for an early start, RACER understands the series could move it to later today after qualifying is held from 11:35 a.m. – 1 p.m.
