Random Vandals sweeps in GT4 America Silver and Pro-Am, Flying Lizard takes Am class in Race 2
The second race of the weekend for Pirelli GT4 America at VIRginia International Raceway brought nonstop action and late-race heartbreak across all three classes. With drying conditions, razor-thin margins, and fierce class competition, the hour-long contest saw lead changes, bold strategy calls, and a flurry of position swaps as the checkered flag approached. From comeback drives to post-race penalties, Race 2 had it all.
Silver class
Kenton Koch, fresh off a class win in Race 1, picked up where he left off by putting the No. 97 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 EVO at the front of the overall field early on, overtaking Michael Cooper from the Pro-Am ranks. Meanwhile, Danny Dyszelski in the No. 77 VPX Motorsport Porsche initially slotted into second but fell to fourth just past the 20-minute mark, with Luca Mars in the No. 39 van der Steur Racing Aston Martin and Zac Anderson in the No. 52 Auto Technic BMW climbing into podium contention.
At the halfway point, Koch handed off his machine to Kevin Boehm, who rejoined as the overall and Silver class leader. Behind him, Colin Garrett, who took over from Anderson, and Nate Cicero in the No. 37 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 launched a serious charge. Cicero, on a mission, carved his way forward, eventually overtaking Garrett for P2.

Pro-Am class
Michael Cooper initially led the Pro-Am charge in the No. 88 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4, holding second overall, while Ryan Yardley gave chase in the No. 25 ACI Motorsports Porsche. Early on, Riley Dickinson went off track while running in the top 3, dropping the No. 7 ACI Motorsports entry from podium contention.
Meanwhile, Josh Green in the No. 94 Random Vandals BMW passed Tyler McQuarrie in the No. 82 BimmerWorld BMW to move into P3. After pit stops, Sam Craven jumped ahead of Cooper’s teammate Tony Gaples thanks to a faster turnaround from the Random Vandals Racing unit.
Damit Hot took over the No. 25 ACI Porsche and emerged briefly in the lead, but mistakes saw him run wide, allowing Craven and BimmerWorld’s James Walker Jr. to close in. Craven reclaimed the top spot in the late stages.
On the restart, Gaples muscled his way back into second, followed by Walker Jr., rounding off a Pro-Am podium of Craven, Gaples, and Walker Jr.
Am class
It was another wild ride in the Am class. Charlie Postins held an early advantage in the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW, with out-of-class traffic serving as a buffer until Allen Patten closed the gap and overtook in the No. 606 Thunder Bunny Racing Toyota Supra.
Both frontrunners pitted just before the halfway mark. Postins handed off to James Clay, while Laura Hayes took over for Patten. Clay regained the lead out of pit lane, but an issue saw him drop back as Hayes took over up front.
A full-course yellow bunched up the field again, and with just five minutes to go, Clay made a surprise comeback to retake the lead, as Laura Hayes suffered from a fuel pump issue on the final lap of the race. Behind him, Kris Wilson charged into second in the No. 413 Flying Lizard BMW, while Judson Holt grabbed third in the No. 188 Fast Track Racing BMW.
However, post-race drama flipped the results. BimmerWorld received a time penalty for incident responsibility that took place late in the race, promoting Flying Lizard Motorsports to the class win. Holt and teammate Denny Stripling moved up to second, while the No. 72 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Supra of Anthony Geraci and Kenny Schmied inherited third.
