Altoe completes DragonSpeed's full-time GTD PRO line-up
DragonSpeed has announced the signing of Giacomo Altoe to drive the GTD PRO No.81 Ferrari 296 GT3 for the remainder of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, alongside Albert Costa, who was previously confirmed as a full-season driver.
Costa and Altoe will be joined for the remaining Michelin Endurance Cup events by Ferrari works driver Davide Rigon, following his performance at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
Altoe excelled in Formula 4 and TCR racing back home in Italy before making the switch to GT racing from 2018, where he won the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Pro and Italian GT Championship titles. He went on to win the International GT Open Championship in 2019, the same year that he made his first IMSA appearance at Daytona.
Altoe's individual performance at the Rolex 24 this year for Ferrari GTD customer Conquest Racing, and his role in leading Conquest to a GTD PRO class win at Road America – as a one-off entry in last year's race – earned him the seat for the rest of 2025.
"We’re excited to welcome Giacomo to the team full-time," said DragonSpeed Team Principal Elton Julian. "He shares familiarity with, and success in, the 296 GT3 with Albert and Davide, making him the perfect fit as we continue our push for podiums and victories this season.
Rigon is set to begin his FIA World Endurance Championship campaign for Vista AF Corse at Qatar this week. He and Costa, joined by Miguel Molina and Thomas Neubauer at the Rolex 24, finished sixth in GTD PRO at Daytona driving the yellow No.81 Ferrari prepared with assistance from Risi Competizione.
