Bret Michaels and The All-American Rejects set for Carb Day concert

Penske Entertainment has signed Bret Michaels and The All-American Rejects to lead its Carb Day concerts at the Indianapolis 500.

The 61-year-old Michaels, best known as the lead singer for 1980s hairband Poison and his VH1 reality show "Rock of Love" from 2007-09, will be joined by 2000s emo rock band The All-American Rejects, which starts a new tour on Feb. 21 and after a four-year recording hiatus, released its latest single in 2024.

Michaels and AAR will cap the final day of running at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday, May 23, before the field of 33 drivers return to contest the 109th Indy 500.

“Carb Day is not just the official party to kick off race weekend, it’s really the kickoff event of the summer,” said IMS president Doug Boles. “The day has everything to make the perfect party: 33 drivers in the final practice before the 500, the Pit Stop Challenge, people watching and a fun and entertaining concert to put an exclamation point on the party. It really is a day like no other at the 'Racing Capital of the World.' Many of our fans take the day off work and spend it at IMS, which is a tradition we can all celebrate.”
