WeatherTech Raceway completes 2025 Radical Cup calendar

The 2025 Radical Cup North America season will feature three events alongside IndyCar, following the addition of the Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca as Round 4.

“Based on the feedback we receive, Radical Cup is a fan favorite at IndyCar events, especially with our ever-growing Sim Racing community, and we’re delighted to be returning to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the third year in a row,” said Tom Drewer, Director of the Americas for Radical Motorsport. “Our reigning Pro 1500 class champion Jordan Missig, who recently secured a full-time ride in Indy NXT with Abel Motorsport, proves that Radical Cup provides an alternative pathway for young, up and coming drivers to the upper echelons of the sport, and having three IndyCar events in 2025 confirms that message.”

Missig is not the only connection between Radical and IndyCar. Dale Coyne Racing’s Toby Sowery is also a Radical alumni, having won the 2022 Radical World Finals presented by Hankook at Spring Mountain Motor Club and Resort. Sam Schmidt, who until recently was an owner of Arrow McLaren, is a regular in the Radical paddock, watching his son Spencer, who finished fourth in the Pro 1500 class in his rookie year. Indy 500 regular Katherine Legge and IndyCar ace turned steward Max Papis are also friends of the brand, acting as coaches in the Prodigy Racing League which uses Radical SR1 machinery. Then of course there’s six-time IndyCar race winner Graham Rahal, who fields a multi-championship winning team in the Radical Cup via his Graham Rahal Performance/Radical Indianapolis outfit which is also a dealer for the British manufacturer.

Featuring Le Mans style multi-class prototype racing, several former Radical drivers have gone on to conquer the French classic including 2024 LMP2 champion Bijoy Garg and 2023 LMP2 Pro-Am champ George Kurtz. The Platinum class features the Porsche GT3 beating 425hp Radical SR10 machines whose 1m22s lap times at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will only be beaten by the IndyCar and Indy NXT machinery. The Pro 1500 and Pro 1340 classes use Radical’s SR3 platform, capable of lapping in the sub-1m24s and 1m28s respectively.

Radical Cup’s 2025 program gets underway in just over a month at Sebring International Raceway, Feb. 27-March 2. Round two will take place during the Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park, May 1-4, with the IndyCar XPEL Grand Prix Presented by AMR hosting Round 3, June 19-22. The IndyCar Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, July 25-27 is the series' sole trip West, before Road Atlanta, Sept. 11-13, and the season finale at Lime Rock Park, Oct. 17-18.
