Menard shoots to first Trans Am pole of 2024 at NOLA
Paul Menard in the No. 3 Menards/Master Force Tools Ford Mustang claimed his first pole of 2024 with a time of 1m33.951s in the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at NOLA Motorsports Park. It's Menard’s first pole since 2022 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. He currently leads the TA class point standings.
“This is my first time to this track and first time to New Orleans; I've always been curious about the city and everybody's been so nice,” said Menard. “It’s such a great city. I wish we had more time to actually go out and explore a little bit. The racetrack is fun. It's really flat. They did a really nice job with the layout. The layout of the racetrack has got a little bit of everything. There’s a high speed drag strip, the esses are really fast. It's got a couple of hairpins that are really slow; it’s very technical.”
The TA/XGT/SGT/GT race will be contested Saturday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The race will be broadcast live on MAVTV and streamed live here. The highlights show of the race will air on MAVTV on Thursday, April 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
