Red Bull investigating Horner over alleged inappropriate behavior
Red Bull has launched an independent investigation into alleged inappropriate behavior by its team principal Christian Horner.
The energy drinks company – the owner of Red Bull Racing – says it was made aware of the allegations and is investigating, with Horner continuing to fulfill his duties as team principal as normal while it does so.
“After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation,” a Red Bull spokesperson told RACER. "This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.
“The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
Dutch publication De Telegraaf reports the investigation relates to Horner’s behavior particularly towards one specific member of Red Bull Racing.
Horner says he “completely” denies the claims.
The 50-year-old has been Red Bull team principal since it entered Formula 1 as a full constructor in 2005, and has won six constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ championships in that time, including the last three drivers’ titles consecutively for Max Verstappen.
