Hanley to partner with Keating for 2024 IMSA LMP2

Ben Hanley will be Ben Keating's full-season driving partner at United Autosports in 2024 as they go for an LMP2 title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Fresh from a class win at Petit Le Mans that sealed victory in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup for he and George Kurtz, Hanley is set to embark on his fifth year in IMSA and is making a full-season commitment for 2024 with United Autosports.

Hanley is a familiar face in the United Autosports garage, having contested three FIA World Endurance Championship races with the team in 2023 in place of full-season drivers with clashing commitments. On his team debut, Hanley celebrated on the podium at the 6 Hours of Portimao – simultaneously winning the Goodyear Wingfoot award, which is presented to the driver with the fastest average lap times over a double stint in the LMP2 class.

“It’s great to be part of United Autosports’ first full season in IMSA next year,” said Hanley. “I had a great feeling with the team in the few races I did this year and I’m really excited to see what we can achieve in 2024.”

Pro driver Hanley will team up with reigning LMP2 champion Keating in pursuit of the IMSA LMP2 championship title, the duo bringing a wealth of American endurance racing experience to the competitive grid that will swell to 11 full-season entries in 2024. Hanley has taken four wins and four more podiums in 12 WeatherTech Championship starts, including victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona (2020) and Petit Le Mans last weekend (2023), putting him at a 67 percent podium success rate.

“Ben [Hanley] is a quality professional with a ton of IMSA and LMP experience,” says United Autosports CEO Richard Dean. “We have wanted to work with Ben for quite some time now and we have had him in a United car sporadically this year with great success. We now have the chance to turn that into a full season working together alongside Ben Keating and Alex Quinn. This is a formidable line up and underlines how seriously we are taking our full season IMSA program next year.”

United Autosports is bringing a two-car effort to the WeatherTech Championship next year. The team's other car will be piloted by Dan Goldburg and Paul di Resta with Marino Sato joining in for the endurance events.
