The Skip Barber Race Team achieved four podium finishes this past weekend at Watkins Glen International for Round 4 of TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School.

In the perfect blend of experienced drivers and engineers, the Skip Barber Race Team showed strong paced in the practice sessions that lead to a solid qualifying effort, putting the entire team in the fight for podium contention. Kevin Boehm qualified third in TC class with a time of 2m04.932s, missing the pole by just over 0.2s, while his TC class teammate Ken Fukuda placed sixth in the No. 42 Skip Barber Racing School HPD Civic Type-R. In TCA, Carter Fartuch had to overcome significant BoP changes and wheeled his No. 16 Skip Barber Racing School 2022 Gen 11 HPD Civic Si to a sixth place starting spot with his TCA teammate Colin Harrison starting alongside in seventh place.

In a wild Race 1 that saw many drivers in the pits due to tire punctures and a full course caution, Boehm finished runner-up in TC after a hard-fought battle inside the top three in his No. 9 Skip Barber Racing School / CrowdStrike / AWS HPD Civic Type-R. Fukuda was able to maintain pace and improve from his qualifying session to bring home a sixth-place finish.

In TCA, Fartuch kept his Pirelli tires in better condition than his competitors and ran a consistent race to gain five spots and finish runner-up. Harrison was sent into the pits early in the race due to unavoidable contact, but the Skip Barber crew went to work and was able to get him back on track. The driver of the No. 2 Skip Barber Racing School HPD Civic Si was also able to protect his tires and drove his way to a career-best fifth place finish.

In the second race of the weekend, the Skip Barber Race Team duplicated their performance by securing two more podium finishes. In the closing laps, Boehm made the pass for the lead over Clay Williams and continued to set the pace in the TC field to claim his sixth win of the season. Fukuda showed an increase in pace from Race 1 and secured fifth; his second top five finish of the season. Fartuch had to work his way back into podium contention after rolling off seventh. After setting the tone with a bold three-wide pass into the first turn, Fartuch continued to work his way through the TCA field and fight his way to a third-place podium finish. Harrison rounded out the Skip Barber Race Team’s efforts with a sixth-place finish.

The Skip Barber Race Team heads to Road America for Round 5 of TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School on August 19-21. After four rounds of TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School, the Skip Barber Race Team still holds the top spots in both driver championship and team championship categories. Honda Performance Development leads the way in the Manufacturer category.
