Second Contest in Allen Berg Racing Schools’ Virtual Series is Today on Lime Rock Track

San Diego, CA -- With its in-person instruction closed due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Allen Berg Racing School launched a

three-race iRacing championship

May 15 at Sebring and is prepping for the second contest May 22 on the Lime Rock Park course with chicanes. The series, featuring Formula 3 cars, will wrap May 29 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the schools’ home course.

“Like many during these difficult times, we’ve decided to organize some races by inviting our past racing school clients, partners and instructors to join us for some fun and distraction,” said president/CEO Allen Berg. “We are doing everything in-house with a steep learning curve and really enjoying it."

The series’ current points leader -- Jochen Repolust – knows a thing or two about simulated racing; he’s the founder of L.A.’s

Base51,

a bar/restaurant that features 10 professional-elite level racing simulators networked for head-to-head competition on the world’s most challenging race tracks.

Phil Denes -- currently third in points -- races real race cars on the Road to Indy ladder system, and holds the #2 all-time global fastest lap in iRacing in a Dallara F3 car at Lime Rock Park with chicanes -- 50.674 -- which is 11/1000ths behind the record holder.

“Once we get through this 3-race series and crown our first sim racing champion, we will reevaluate and see what’s next for us and our racers,” Berg said.
