GESS International announced Friday that it has expanded its partnership with Harding Steinbrenner Racing as a primary sponsor of the No. 88 Honda driven by Colton Herta to include this weekend’s INDYCAR Grand Prix, the 103rd Indianapolis 500 and an unspecified “variety of other races throughout the remainder of the 2019 IndyCar Series season.”
The renewable energy service company made its debut as primary sponsor of Herta’s car for the preceding two races at Barber and Long Beach.
“Having GESS International back on our car for the INDYCAR Grand Prix, the 103nd Indianapolis 500 and more is very exciting,” said team co-owner Mike Harding. “The GESS organization is making major leaps in helping improve the earth with clean energy, and we’re honored to be a part of it all. I’m looking forward to our partnership with GESS International and continuing to bring great results on the track.”
GESS International CEO Shaun Lee indicated he intended for the company’s involvement in IndyCar to extend beyond this season, as well.
“GESS International is the largest and fastest growing biogas company, and we are thrilled to be working with the fastest driver and growing team of Colton Herta and Harding Steinbrenner Racing for the INDYCAR Grand Prix, the 103nd Indianapolis 500 and the remainder of the season,” Lee said. “We are ready to connect NTT IndyCar Series fans to the benefits of biogas for years to come.”
