Rain postpones Dover Cup race to Monday-192518
The Gander RV 400 at Dover International Speedway has been postponed until Monday afternoon.
A persistent rain forced the decision as the race was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. ET Sunday. It will now go green at 12 p.m. ET Monday, broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Dover is the 11th race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
Because of the weather, NASCAR officials have called for a competition caution on Lap 40. The stage breaks at Dover will be Laps 120 and 240 with the scheduled distance being 400 laps.
Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and William Byron will lead the field to the green flag. Elliott won last weekend at Talladega and is also the most recent winner at Dover, having gone to victory lane at the facility last fall.
Kyle Larson and Joey Logano will start from row two. Kevin Harvick, the defending winner of this race, will start sixth in row three.
Four drivers will move to the rear of the field for failing pre-race inspection multiple times.
Thirty-seven cars will take the green flag.
