Pit road speed limits to be enforced for qualifying
Beginning this weekend at Fontana, California's Auto Club Speedway, NASCAR will enforce pit road speed during qualifying.
NASCAR officials sent a memo to its Monster Energy Series teams of the new procedure on Wednesday. It will be enforced for all three rounds of knockout qualifying.
If a driver speeds leaving pit road, he will be required to return to pit road before being eligible to post a qualifying time.
If a driver speeds returning to pit road from his qualifying run, that time or times posted will be disallowed.
