Envision Virgin Racing’s Robin Frijns was the fastest in the second practice session of the day in Hong Kong, setting a fast lap time in the wet of 1m09.221s preparing for Sunday’s Round 4 of the 2018/19 ABB Formula E Championship.
Frijns was closely followed on the time sheets by Oliver Rowland (Nissan e.dams, 1m09.478s) and DS Techeetah’s Andre Lotterer (1m09.499s).
More rain between the first and second sessions brought more action to Hong Kong’s Harbourfront as once again all the drivers fought to keep the cars between the walls on the track’s tight confines.
Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara ground to a halt on track due to a technical issue, just a few minutes into the session, with Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s Mitch Evans following suit not long after.
With more rain forecast, the landmark 50th race in Formula E history could well be the first wet one.
Qualifying is next.
