Rearden Racing confirms TC line-ups

Rearden Racing, the defending TC America driver’s championship team after Vesko Kozarov won six of 12 races in 2018, brings a solid stable of racing machines to the Blancpain GT World Challenge season opener this weekend at Circuit of The Americas, as announced today by team owner Lara Tallman.

Tallman, a longtime team owner in North American road racing campaigns, has led the Rearden Racing operation for a decade with race-winning performances and title runs in a variety of machinery including the last two SRO California 8 Hours GT4 class wins with a Porsche Cayman (2017) and an Audi R8 (2018) at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

This year, the Rearden Racing organization will field a Touring Car Nissan 370Z TC in the TCA America Touring Car 14-race season beginning this weekend at COTA with veteran Paul Terry at the wheel of the No. 33 in the two 40-minute TC sprint races set for this Saturday (11:15 am CST) and Sunday (9 a.m. CST).

In the Pirelli GT4 category, Rearden Racing has entered to GT4 sports cars in the SprintX doubleheader race weekend with a pair of Audi R8 LMS machines. Veteran driver Jeff Burton will compete with Kozarov, the multi-time race winner in GT4 and TC events as well as last year’s TC series champion, in the No. 91 Burton Lumber/Rearden Racing Audi R8 LMS in the GT4 West SprintX series.

In addition, the veteran winning-race pair of Sarah Cattaneo and Owen Trinkler will drive the No. 43 GRG LLC/Rearden Racing Audi R8 LMS in both COTA Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West 60-minute races set for Saturday (1:05 p.m. CST) and Sunday (10:10 a.m. CST). Catteneo and Trinkler have captured a variety of sports car races for many years.

“We are excited to be back in World Challenge series,” said Tallman. And if things all come together, I also hope to jump back behind the wheel for a few events too. We are anxious to get our cars to COTA and compete in that opening weekend of the season. We have Paul Terry back with Rearden Racing in the Nissan 370Z in the TC America races.”

“Vesko will be with Jeff Burton in the SprintX West and we’re really excited about that because it gives Jeff some good coaching and a great driver for him to work with. Then Sarah Cattaneo and Owen Trinkler are doing the whole year. I know Sarah from when we both were racing in another series. We started at a similar time and knew each other back then. I’m really excited that she is coming with us this year to do the full SprintX West season.”

The goal again for the Rearden Racing operation is to collect more racing titles in 2019, and Tallman believes the team has the capabilities to reach the potential starting this weekend at COTA.

“We really want to win races and championships,” said Tallman. “It’s something that I feel like we’ve done consistently. We work really hard to show up with cars and a team capable of doing that. That’s not an easy task, but it’s something that we are committed to in the racing business. I hope that we can continue to grow our organization and work consistently toward more championships.”

Tallman also has been a successful driver with the Rearden Racing team, dating back to the 2000s, but, most recently, Lara has concentrated on the “behind-the-scenes” positions including operations, sponsor marketing and race strategy.
