Pippa Mann has been added to GEOX Dragon’s lineup for the in-season Formula E test on the streets of Ad Diriyah, which will take place a day after the opening race of season five, the Ad Diriyah E-Prix.
Mann will test the No.6 Penske EV-3; the team’s season five drivers Jose Maria Lopez and Max Gunther will pilot the No.7 entry.
“I’m excited to have this opportunity to drive a more open-wheel style car on a street/road circuit again, and I’m grateful to Formula E for creating this opportunity for female racers — and for doing it the right way without segregating us,” Mann said. “As a result there’s a serious list of female talent on the list for this test, and I’m honored my name is now on there too.”
With Saudi Arabia’s recent decision to allow women to drive, the local promoter has worked with teams with the stated goal of encouraging more female participation. 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona runner-up Katherine Legge and Sauber test driver Tatiana Calderon are among those scheduled to take part.
