HART Acura team withdraws from Petit Le Mans

The Honda of America Racing Team (HART) will not participate in IMSA’s close to the season at Petit Le Mans due to budgetary constraints.

We are sad to announce that due to budget situations we will not be attending Petit Le Mans,” the team said via social media. “It was a very tough decision but one that was necessary for us to have a chance at a 2019.”

Making its debut with an Acura NSX GTD in January, the team comprised of Honda employees and volunteers contested the first three rounds of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup. After decent runs at Daytona, Sebring, and Watkins Glen, the Chad Gilsinger-led outfit had intended to complete the TPNAEC at the 10-hour Road Atlanta finale with Honda factory driver and local product Ryan Eversley. The Georgia native also expressed his regret for the change in HART’s plans.

“Absolutely gutted to be missing my home race, Petit Le Mans in the @HARTracingteam @Acura NSX,” he wrote. “Thanks to everyone who's supported our program this season.”
