Schmidt Peterson Motorsports announced that its driver Robert Wickens has been transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as he continues to undergo treatment for injuries suffered in the crash of his SPM IndyCar at Pocono earlier this month.

Wickens was transferred from Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, where he had been being treated since his Aug. 19 crash, to Methodist on Thursday, Aug. 30. He will soon undergo further surgery on his lower extremities, according to the team’s news release.

“The Wickens family and SPM organization want to thank the surgeons, nursing team and the staff at the LVHN facility for their care of Robert the last 12 days,” the team added.
