Menard, Kurt Busch fail Glen inspection
The cars of Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch have passed inspection and will officially start on the front row at Watkins Glen.
Going to the rear for the start of the 90-lap race will be Paul Menard and Kurt Busch.
Post-qualifying/pre-race inspection for the Go Bowling at The Glen took place Sunday morning. Busch and Menard were the only two of the 37 cars entered in the race not to pass inspection on the first time through, a different scene from a week ago when 13 cars failed to pass on the first attempt at Pocono.
Menard has his 14th-place qualifying time disallowed when his car failed mechanical measurements. Kurt Busch had qualified 21st but his car failed at the template station.
Both cars passed inspection on their second trips through.
NBC will have coverage of today’s race starting at 2 p.m. ET.
