Laguna IndyCar return to be decided next week

The fate of IndyCar's return to Monterey's Laguna Seca will be decided next week but all signs point to the legendary road course being added to the 2019 schedule.

A published agenda for the track now known as Weather Tech Raceway Laguna Seca showed the board of supervisors will vote Tuesday on whether to bring Indy cars back to race for the first time since 2004 (pictured).

Hulman & Company CEO Mark Miles plans to be in Northern California next Tuesday in hopes of following the vote with a press conference.

CART/Champ Car raced at Laguna from 1983 to '04, although it did run its last "Spring Training" pre-season sessions at the track in 2007. Sonoma Raceway has hosted IndyCar since 2005 and been the season finale since 2015.
