Alex Brundle will deputize for Bruno Senna at United Autosports this weekend in Sebring.
The young Englishman has experience with the Zak Brown- and Richard Dean-owned prototype team, and with the Brazilian driver continuing to deal with an illness, drafting in Brundle was an easy choice.
“It’s great to have Alex here, he slots in to the team easily having worked with and won with United Autosports recently,” Dean told RACER. “He did the test with us here, and so was the logical choice when Bruno unfortunately had to withdraw.”
Dean also expects Brundle’s circuit knowledge to aid teammates Paul di Resta and Phil Hanson, who are learning the unique 3.7-mile road course during Thursday’s opening practice sessions. “He’s raced here before, which also should help our Sebring rookies Phil and Paul,” he said.
The No. 32 UA Ligier JS P217-Gibson was 14th-fastest in FP1.
