JCR Motorsports expands to 3-car PWC GTS entry

JCR Motorsports will return to Pirelli World Challenge GTS action this year with three Maserati GT4s driven by Jeff Courtney, Fred Roberts and Walter Bobko.

For the 2018 season, team owner/driver Jeff Courtney will once again pilot the No.99 Maserati with long-time partner Kenda Tires, new-for-2018 sponsor SSIC (X-Analytics) and RecStuff.com.

“I can’t say enough how much I appreciate Kenda’s continued support of JCR Motorsports, being a great partner of ours for well over a decade!” Courtney said. “I am also excited to announce our newest partner, SSIC and their X-Analytics cyber risk analytics product. Courtney finished the 2017 season seventh overall in the standings, despite being a partial-season entrant, with second-place performances at VIR and his home track, Road America.

“I am very excited by the pace our Maserati showed last season and am looking to have a competitive GTS season in 2018. We’ve been working hard with testing and car prep, but we are well aware of how competitive 2018 will be with all of the new talent and GT4 manufacturers on the grid,” Courtney added.

Canadian Fred Roberts is hoping to run a full season in the No.89 Enercare, Amana, Wolseley, RPM Canada-liveried machine as he looks to continue to climb up the class standings after showing great potential last season, including taking the GTSA poles at Road America and Mid Ohio.

“Last season was a little bittersweet as I was just starting to really get a feel for my Maserati GT4, and then my season ended! I am really looking forward to getting back at it!” Roberts said.

Also joining the team for 2018 will be Walter Bobko with a partial-season effort for his inaugural Pirelli World Challenge campaign. Bobko, who is most known for racing Ford Mustangs, joins JCR Motorsports with Bobko Financial Group Limited and Canoe Financial as partners.

“Through the support of my sponsors, my team and my family, I now have the opportunity to make my pro racing debut in Pirelli World Challenge,” Bobko said. “My expectations for the season are to just enjoy every moment as I race on historic tracks beside world class drivers.”
