Daniel Suarez swept both Friday practice sessions at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the 60th annual Daytona 500.
The fastest lap for the No. 19 Toyota was 203.179mph. Suarez starts 17th on Sunday afternoon in what will be his second Daytona 500.
Completing the top five were Ryan Newman at 202.945mph, Michael McDowell at 202.867mph, AJ Allmendinger at 202.739mph and Kyle Busch at 202.689mph.
The rest of the top 10 were Paul Menard (202.607mph), Martin Truex Jr. (202.488mph), Kasey Kahne (202.443mph), Brad Keselowski (201.916mph), and Kevin Harvick (201.834mph). Pole-sitter Alex Bowman was 21st fastest at 199.468mph.
There were no incidents in the 50-minute session and only 29 cars participated. A few teams, including those of Chase Elliott, Ty Dillon and Kevin Harvick, called it a day before the session was complete.
