Cal8H: Audi 1-2-3 at half-distance

A safety car intervention just before the halfway mark of the inaugural edition of the Mazda Raceway California 8 Hours meant that the advantage of the leading No. 29 Audi Sport Team Land R8 was reduced to naught. The No. 44 Audi Sport Team Magnus R8 is still in second, with the No. 11 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT R8 making it a Audi 1-2-3.

Behind the leading Audis the No. 43 RealTime Racing Acura occupied fourth position, but an ill-timed pit stop dropped the car off the lead lap. The No. 58 Porsche Motorsport North America by Wright Motorsport 911 and the No. 9 K-PAX Racing McLaren managed to get back on the lead lap because of the second safety car intervention and are now in fourth and fifth respectively, less than ten seconds behind the leader.

The battle for the GT3 Pro-Am honors is evolving in favor of the No. 54 Black Swan Racing Porsche, which is in eighth overall. It has a full lap on the second car in class, the No. 77 Calvert Dynamics / GMG Racing Porsche. In GT4 the No. 3 TRG Aston Martin is still in the lead, with a two lap advantage on the No. 8 HKG Racing / GMG Racing Porsche.
