
TV Ratings: NASCAR at Dover
Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Dover earned a 1.32 and averaged 2.046 million viewers, down from a 1.53 rating and average 2.56 viewers in 2016.
Saturday afternoon's Xfinity race saw a big jump from last year, drawing a 0.54 and averaged 829,000 viewers. With an earlier start in 2016 and a slot on CNBC, the race drew a 0.27/387,000 viewers. The numbers come as Sports Media Watch reports that the previous week's Xfinity race at New Hampshire was down 14 percent in ratings and 13 percent in viewership from last year (from a 0.56 to 0.48 and a drop from 846,000 to 740,000 viewers) and down 20 and 21 percent respectively from 2015 (0.60, 933,000). It was the least-watched Xfinity Series race all season, the the three-least watched coming in consecutive weeks.
The Camping World Truck Series Saturday night race from Las Vegas scored a 0.25 and 408,000 viewers on FS1, not far off from 2016, when the race registered a 0.27 and 447,000 viewers.
Numbers for the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix were not yet available.
