O'Connell to switch to spare car after Friday crash
Cadillac Racing spent Friday night building up its spare car for Johnny O'Connell to use for the remainder of this weekend's PWC round at Sonoma after the primary car was badly damaged in a crash during practice yesterday.
The spare – which began the weekend as a display car on the Sonoma midway – required a complete update, including electronics, the AC system and an engine installation. The process of stripping the outdated parts from the car and rebuilding it was completed at around 1 a.m., followed by another hour's work to set it up.
The car will run in its white show livery.
