Subway's JGR deal ended due to TV segment

Subway's decision to terminate its sponsorship with Joe Gibbs Racing one race early was due to a Dunkin' Donuts segment Daniel Suarez appeared in last month on NBC Sports, JGR confirmed Sunday night.

The segment featured Suarez and NBC host Rutledge Wood cruising through the New Hampshire Motor Speedway campgrounds meeting fans and handing out donuts.

Subway also has a breakfast menu.

It was revealed Friday that Subway had ended its partnership with JGR "due to circumstances beyond our control." Suarez had one race remaining on a four-race sponsorship deal. On Saturday a JGR spokesman would not comment on the cause of the termination but confirmed to RACER that Suarez did not violate a morals clause.

JGR and Subway have partnered together for the past three seasons with Subway appearing on the No. 19 Toyota at Auto Club Speedway, Charlotte and Daytona.
