Furniture Row's Gayle tops this week's penalty list
Chris Gayle, the Furniture Row Racing crew chief for Erik Jones (pictured at right, with Gayle), was suspended for two races Wednesday afternoon after NASCAR issued the team an L1-level penalty.
The No. 77 Toyota was the random car taken to the NASCAR R&D Center following an eighth-place finish Sunday at Pocono Raceway. It was there NASCAR officials found the car to be in violation of section 20.14.2 of the rulebook for the rear suspension.

In a statement, team president Joe Garrone said Furniture Row Racing would not contest the penalty.
"We understand and accept NASCAR's penalty to our No. 77 team," Garrone said. "We will not appeal the unintentional infraction with the rear suspension and will move on with team engineer James Small taking over as the interim crew chief for the next two races."
Other penalties from Pocono include the crew chiefs for Kyle Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Trevor Bayne being fined $10,000 for lug nut(s) not properly installed.
In the Camping World Truck Series, Trip Bruce – the crew chief for Stewart Friesen – was fined $2,500 for lug nut(s) not properly installed.
