Preview SCCA’s Toledo Tour with turbo Thunderbird videos
This weekend, the Tire Rack SCCA Solo Championship Tour heads to Swanton, Ohio, for what is known in SCCA autocross circles as the Toledo Tour. This event is the final round of SCCA's national autocross series prior to the Tire Rack Solo National Championships, which takes place Sept. 5-8, 2017, at Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, Neb. And registered for this weekend's big Ohio showdown is Ethan Bradbury driving one of the most unique C Prepared builds around: a late 1980s turbo Ford Thunderbird.
Bradbury isn't new to autocross – we've seen his Thunderbird take on many traditional CP-class Mustangs and Camaros at autocrosses over the years. And since we're looking for an excuse to preview SCCA's live timing and scoring at this weekend's Toledo Championship Tour, we can think of nothing better than to showcase videos illustrating what this 2.3-liter, 300-horsepower, turbo Thunderbird can do.
The first two videos are of the car at the Toledo autocross site, while the third video comes from a past Solo National Championships event, offering a showcase of what SCCA's C Prepared class looks like (the Thunderbird appears around the 3:30 mark).
