Mount joins JDX Racing for F4 U.S.
JDX Racing and Mount Motorsports have announced that second-year Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda driver Blake Mount will return to the series after spending the off-season working with a specialized trainer and nutritionist to improve his on-track stamina.
Mount fills the first of three seats for the inaugural season championship team, sporting the yellow and navy colors of Expedia in the No. 7 Crawford F4-16 chassis.
"We are excited to have Blake back after a successful rookie season," said JDX Racing team owner Jeremy Dale. "Blake's off-season work will pay dividends in the highly completive F4 U.S. Championship. We are honored to be competing for a second year and we are confident Blake will give our team plenty of time at the front of the field."
The 22-year-old finished 15th in his rookie F4 U.S. season. Mount had several midfield finishes throughout the inaugural year, aiding in JDX Racing capturing the team championship. Mount's best showing was at Mid-Ohio, placing sixth in Round 5.
"I can't wait to get back to Homestead Miami Speedway and get this season going," said Mount. "We've had some big improvements over the off-season and I know our team is up for the challenge to repeat as the championship winning team. Expedia has a long history of success over the years, and they are a partner that wants its travelers to not just travel, but to travel right. That same level of excellence is seen every time people walk into race shops, and the pits crews work in. Having Expedia on board for the No. 7 car will make for a great combination to start off the year."
So far, Mount joins seven returning F4 U.S. competitors in the 2017 line-up. Davis Durrett, Raphael Forcierl, Steve Bamford, Skylar Robinson, Austin Kaszuba, Alan Miller, and Baltazar Leguizamon have all announced campaigns for their second F4 U.S. season.
The F4 U.S. Championship season kicks off at Homestead Miami Speedway April 8-9. Fans can visit F4USChampionship.com for a complete racing schedule and JDXRacing.com for more information on its F4 U.S. season.
