Nice names street after Jules Bianchi

Jules Bianchi has been memorialized with the naming of a street after him in the late Formula 1 driver's home city of Nice.

The newly-named Rue Jules Bianchi runs close to the city's Allianz Riviera stadium; a location that the Bianchi's father Philippe told local media would have pleased his son, who was a soccer fan.

The 25-year-old died in 2015, nine months after suffering severe head injuries in a crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. Earmarked as a star of the future through his strong performances in junior formulae, Bianchi had signed a long-term development deal with Ferrari and was in his second F1 season with Marussia at the time of his accident. That same year, he earned the only points finish in Marussia's history with his ninth-place in Monaco (below).
