IMSA: Nissan DPi breaks cover at Sebring

The first images of Nissan's new Ligier-built Daytona Prototype international were revealed today. Brought to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship by the Tequila Patron ESM team in partnership with the Japanese brand and the French LMP2 constructor, the twin-turbo V6-powered prototype, officially designated as the "Nissan Onroak DPi," is taking part in its shakedown at Sebring International Raceway.

Its most notable departure from the base Ligier JS P217 is the carbon fiber beam that spans the front fenders and covers the nose (note comparison images below, Ligier images by LAT). The car will make its public debut Jan. 6-8 at the Roar Before the 24.
