F1: Schumacher family sues photographer over hospital images

Sabine Kehm, managing director of The MS Office that runs the business affairs of Michael Schumacher, has revealed that charges have been filed in Germany against an unnamed photographer who allegedly attempted to market photos of the seven-time world champion in a hospital bed.

Kehm told Motorsport-Magazin that the photos taken of Schumacher (pictured above during his final F1 season in 2012) following his traumatic brain injuries suffered in a December 2013 skiing accident, were offered to several publications for $1.04 million.

This is not the first time the Schumacher family has initiated legal action against alleged invasions of privacy involving both photographers as well as published reports making claims about the state of the German legend's health, which have occurred despite regular pleas from the family to respect its wishes for privacy.

Over the weekend, The MS Office announced it was organizing a

"Keep Fighting Initiative"

to "channel the positive energy received by Michael Schumacher and the Schumacher family as a force for good in the world." It emphasized, however, that Schumacher's health remains a private matter and urged the media and public to respect its decision not to make public updates on the subject.
