F1: Hamilton doesn't want another mechanics swap

Lewis Hamilton says he will ask his Mercedes team not to repeat the swap of crews between the team's two Formula 1 cars that they made before the start of this season.

"Next year I'll speak to Toto [Wolff, team boss] and say, 'Look, I don't want my guys being changed,'" Hamilton (pictured below with Mercedes Chief Race Engineer Andy Shovlin) told Britain's Channel 4 TV. "I want to keep all my engineers  there's not a single person that needs to leave. All my mechanics, there's not a single person that needs to leave.

Mercedes bosses decided in March to swap several members of Nico Rosberg's 2015 F1 crew to Hamilton's car for '16 and visa versa. There are five differences on each car for this season, which Mercedes described as being partially made up of swaps, and partly new personnel coming in as the result of normal staff turnover.

Rosberg immediately praised the move

, while Hamilton expressed dissatisfaction about it on several occasions during the season and

hinted there is an untold story behind the swap.

"You'll have to buy my book in 10 years' time to find out exactly what happened. It will be an interesting read," Hamilton said ahead of the Abu Dhabi finale.

"There's at least one thing that they changed into the year which they didn't do on the other side which needs to change, and I don't know why they did that," Hamilton told Channel 4. "But otherwise, let's go racing. I'm committed, hopefully they're committed to me. I'm now their only world champion, so hopefully they respect and appreciate that and the commitment that I'll put into next year."
